Red Cross Assists Hamas in Recovery for Bodies of Captives in Gaza Strip

A Red Cross official confirmed that its personnel joined members of Hamas into zones of the Gaza Strip currently controlled by Israeli military control to support the hunt for the bodies of Israeli hostages.

Truce Agreements and Captive Bodies Return

Under the truce negotiated by the United States, which began on 10 October, the group is obligated to return the bodies of all Israeli hostages as soon as possible. In exchange, the Israeli government has agreed to transfer the remains of 15 Palestinians for every Israeli body returned.

Conflicting Claims on Body Location

The group has claimed it lacks information on the exact locations of all the remains, saying it has lost contact with a number of its units that had been detaining the captives and were allegedly eliminated during Israeli bombardments.
